What can Australians teach the world about Network Marketing and Party Plan?
Australia is arguably the world’s most fiercely competitive marketplace. With a land mass the size of the continental USA or Western Europe, a population of only 18 million, few trade barriers, little tariff protection and all export markets literally overseas, the Island Continent has had to move from being the "Lucky Country" of the 1950s and 1960s to the "Clever Country" of the 1990s and beyond. Typically, the change has been swift and dynamic, with a steep learning curve and a great deal of pain. Australia has moved from being a giant farm and quarry to one of the world's leaders in innovation and uptake of new technology.
Because of the vast distances between population centres, penetration rates of new technology in Australia, especially telecommunications and information technology, are amongst the highest and fastest in the world.
Despite the "tyranny of distance" that Australians have always had to battle, both inside and outside their country, we are one of the most urbanised societies on earth, with more than 30% of the nation's people living in just two cities.
Australia is also the commercial gateway to South East Asia for many Western corporations, and Australians are entrepreneurial, fiercely independent and more tolerant than most societies. We’re quick to seize on new ideas and opportunities and make them work better, because of the rigours and challenges of our continent.
Most US network marketing and party plan companies choose Australia as their first overseas expansion point (Canada is their first foreign market for obvious reasons). This is for good reasons. Australian customs and values are very similar to North America. The US, Canada and Australia/New Zealand are all former British colonies. We're all multi- cultural societies with a common language, common heritage and lifestyles. The egalitarian character of Australian society is the perfect environment for network marketing and party plan businesses to grow and prosper.
The Profit Clinic brings you the kind of ideas and strategies that have driven this growth. Victoria’s former Minister for Multi-Media, Alan Stockdale, and former US Vice President Al Gore were the only politicians invited to attend Microsoft’s Top 100 CEOs Conference in 1996 to explore the future of on-line technology. Victoria is a world leader in the implementation of on-line technology for government, education and related services.
(In case you haven't realised it yet, this website is unashamedly Australian!)
