What can you do if your network marketing company doesn’t have its own web presence?

by John Counsel

Don’t worry. Just because your MLM company isn’t a “Wave 3” organisation doesn’t mean your personal network has to do without the huge advantages that others enjoy!

You can do LOTS!

There are three critically-important activities involved in building a successful network of people…

  1. Communication.

  2. Training.

  3. Support (emotional, logistical, strategic and tactical, tools and resources)

If you can get these three working well, you can succeed beyond anything you ever imagined.

But there have always been three major obstacles to success in these three areas of network building…

  1. Time.

  2. Cost.

  3. Distance.

If you have a network of only a few dozen or so people, the time and cost of overcoming distance can be high. Mailings, telephone calls, voicemail systems, meetings, travelling… your earnings can easily be eaten up, and all your time for prospecting, sponsoring and retailing evaporate, just staying in regular contact with your people.

Imagine how much worse it would be if you had hundreds, if not thousands, of people?

The Internet overcomes all three obstacles and streamlines the three critical activities, whether or not your company is on line.

Set up your own Network Resource website. Establish your own chatlines on IRC. Create E-mail distribution lists. Publish on-line newsletters. Do on-line ecognitions. Then, when your company eventually hits the Net (as it must do, sooner or later, if it wants to survive), you'll be ready to plug straight into it from your existing site.

You can MAKE it happen for your organisation. And, in the process, maybe inspire your company to follow your lead.

Don’t try to pre-empt the company’s plans for a website, though. In other words, your Network Resource site should be limited to servicing your personal network. Your company may not be happy for you to feature the products, the reward plan and other features and benefits of the business itself. It may already be planning to do this itself.

And before you complain that this means losing out on opportunities for sponsoring, remember this:

The Number One factor in most peoples’ decision to join a particular network marketing opportunity – and a particular line of sponsorship – is NOT the company, NOT the products, and NOT the reward plan.

The Number One deciding factor is the availability and quality of TRAINING, COMMUNICATION and SUPPORT for them as new distributors!

Think back to when you joined your sponsor. Which was more important? The company? The products? The reward plan? Or was it the support and training and communication your sponsor could offer you?

Your Network Resource website will be more important in sponsoring new distributors into your personal organisation than any company website will ever be. Send all your prospects to your website. Tell your downline folks to do the same. Its very existence is one of the most powerful sponsoring tools you’ll ever have.

Your company's website will be nothing more than helpful support. Just like its brochures and other literature are right now.
