The following realities of business in the twenty-first century are clear-cut and
inescapable, and we ignore them at our peril as a nation and culture. These are the
plain and simple reasons why we're so committed to small business survival and prosperity
- Around 80% of all employers
are small businesses.
- Around 50% of all people
who are employed work for small businesses.
- Small business creates diversity,
choice and stability in local communities. It also creates healthy
competition.
- Every dollar that small business
brings into a local economy circulates within that community at least 2.7 times,
strengthening and expanding that local economy.
- 90% of ALL small businesses
fail in the first 10 years. 75% fail in half that time.
- It's estimated
that if we can save just 10% of these small businesses from failing we can
eliminate unemployment and wipe out foreign debt in just 5 years.
