I’m John Counsel, founder and CEO of The Profit Clinic. I just wanted to welcome
you to my private area, tell you a little about it and why I created it for people
like yourself.
Its purpose is to educate and
inform people about network marketing… about the right things to do to succeed, the
right reasons for doing them, and about the multitude of boobytraps and snares that
await the unsuspecting and uninformed – including experienced MLM leaders!
I've been around this business
system for two decades as a professional networker and management consultant, columnist,
author and trainer. In that time, I've managed to learn a few things.
What this Private Area
WON’T do…
- It won’t tell you about
any specific companies.
It won’t talk about specific products (other than in general terms).
It won’t try to prospect you or anyone you refer here for any network marketing
opportunity.
What this Private Area
WILL do…
- What you will find here
are the kind of information, ideas and insights you need in order to make better,
more objective, more informed business choices. It will show you the kinds
of things you should be aware of, good and bad, when evaluating ANY network marketing
opportunity.
I know, from nearly two decades
of professional experience, that the most valuable network marketer, whether brand
new or old hand, is one who understands WHY network marketing works – the principles
and values required – not just the structures and methods that
are merely HOW it works.
You can never be truly in control
until you understand WHY.
Gloves off!
- Let me be really blunt, so there’s
no misunderstanding about what I mean.
When I'm actively involved with
a business opportunity, I spend more time and effort DISqualifying people with the
wrong motives and attitudes than I do trying to convince people to join me. I
want commitment, not curiosity. It’s hard to make any kind of commitment based
on ignorance or simply WANTING something to work. You have to be committed
to MAKING it work for YOU. Anything less than genuine determination, dedication
and discipline (that’s what commitment is all about) simply doesn’t work.
I want quality… not quantity.
Quantity has NO leverage.
Most people misunderstand this
aspect of network marketing, badly, and they pay a terrible price for it. So do the
people they recruit. So does network marketing in general.
Cause and Effect – the
Hidden Secret
- They don’t realise that quality
is cause and quantity is effect – the result of a specific, carefully
defined and controlled process.
Instead, they believe that quantity
will create quantity. If only they can get enough people into their downline, they’ll
make BIG money. It’s the ultimate numbers game.
No way. Not long term. That mindset
— that MLM is just another numbers game — contains the seeds of its own defeat. All
it takes to become reality is time.
What that “numbers game” approach
creates is waste. It sabotages any leverage you might have enjoyed, and
it destroys the hope, faith, trust, confidence and self-esteem of the part
time distributors you churn through and burn in your mindless quest, not to mention
the unconscionable financial losses they suffer.
They quit in anger and disgust.
Can you really blame them?
And no derisive comments by “leaders”
about them just being “quitters’ or “losers” will change the reality of this situation.
That’s nothing but self-justification on the part of selfish, ignorant or incompetent
upline people – the REAL “losers”.
By the way, are you one of the
“walking wounded” who've crashed and burned? Have you been dismissed as a “quitter”
or “loser” by your own upline leaders? The truth is, most people who visit this site
identify VERY closely with that condition.
The reality is this… you are NOT the cause
of your situation. You’re the EFFECT.
That whole approach to network
marketing creates untold damage, and the standard cop-out by upline and company managements
– “they’re just losers” – should be seen for what it really is… a sop to soothe
their own guilty consciences, and to deflect the blame from where it rightfully belongs.
You’re like most people who find
themselves in this position – you’re the right driver… you’re just in the wrong
vehicle!
It’s time to face the ugly truth
about this kind of slash-and-burn, rape-and-pillage approach to network marketing…
It’s NOT true network
marketing — it never was!
- It’s nothing more than a slick,
vicious counterfeit of the real thing. It’s a selfish game of win-lose,
where less than 1% of the people profit at the expense of the other 99%.
Even the concept of win-lose
is a counterfeit. It’s really lose-lose posing as a win – until the loser
wakes up to reality. Then they pull the plug on the whole deal, and it becomes what
it always was, in reality... a loss for everyone involved.
A revealing analogy
If you’ve ever
seen the Michael Douglas-Kathleen Turner movie, “The Jewel of the Nile,” you’ll
recall the scene where they escape from the palace of a maniacal Middle Eastern ruler
in a jet fighter they find hidden in a street-front garage.
They climb aboard, fire up the
engines, then proceed to wreak havoc in the neighbouring streets and market places.
In the process, they not only destroy surrounding buildings, suck in and burn people
who get too close to them and create chaos at every turn, but they damage the vehicle
beyond recognition.
They have no idea of how to get
control of it and get it off the ground and into the air, where it could whisk them
quickly to freedom.
Sound familiar?
Isn’t this like most network
marketers?
The painful reality
of network marketing in the 21st century
- The typical network marketer
is offered a “jet fighter” but, because it has a body, wheels, controls, seats, windscreens
and engine, they mistakenly assume that it’s just a new version of what they’re already
used to getting around in – an automobile!
So they climb aboard and proceed
toward their destination, leaving chaos and destruction in their wake, sucking people
in, burning them and spitting them out. And they never, ever manage to get
off the ground.
In other words, they fall for
one of the most common booby traps in everyday life…
They mistake similarity
for difference!
- They go looking for something
different and end up being totally hoodwinked by similarities
to things that are familiar – and assume that those similarities are
the differences!
They’re like the legendary Six
Blind Men of Hindustan…
There were six men of Hindustan,
to learning much inclined,
Who went to see an elephant, though all of them were blind,
That each by observation might satisfy his mind.
The first approached the elephant, and happening to fall
Against his broad and sturdy side, at once began to bawl,
"This mystery of an elephant is very like a wall."
The second, feeling of the tusk, cried, "Ho, what have we here,
So very round and smooth and sharp? To me 'tis mighty clear,
This wonder of an elephant is very like a spear."
The third approached the elephant, and happening to take
The squirming trunk within his hands, thus boldly up and spake,
"I see," quoth he, "the elephant is very like a snake."
The fourth reached out an eager hand, and felt above the knee,
"What this most wondrous beast is like is very plain" said he,
"'Tis clear enough the elephant is very like a tree. "
The fifth who chanced to touch the ear said, "E'en the blindest man
Can tell what this resembles most; deny the fact who can;
This marvel of an elephant is very like a fan."
The sixth no sooner had begun about the beast to grope,
Than seizing on the swinging tail that fell within his scope;
"I see," said he, "the elephant is very like a rope."
So six blind men of Hindustan disputed loud and long,
Each in his own opinion exceeding stiff and strong;
Though each was partly in the right, they all were in the wrong!
In other words, they went looking
for the differences and were so distracted by similarities that they
missed the truth entirely!
The little-known truth
about network marketing
- Network marketing is, in reality,
the ONLY Fourth Generation system of business ever to evolve. That makes it
VERY different from any FIRST Generation business systems that people are familiar
with (there are very few Second Generation businesses, and virtually no Third Generation.
So the gap is v-a-s-t. and people simply don’t see the real difference.).
FOURTH Generation systems of
any kind will NOT operate on FIRST Generation principles and procedures.
Trying to do so is like sitting
in a jet fighter, flapping your arms furiously — and wondering why it won’t fly.
Hence our catchcry at The Profit
Clinic — that Network Marketing is the most enlightened, intelligent, honourable,
ethical, fair, effective, high leverage form of free enterprise… but ONLY when
it’s operated by people who are equally enlightened, intelligent, honourable, ethical,
fair, effective and high leverage!
In other words, they refuse
to even TRY to operate it on the basis of FIRST Generation selfishness, fear of loss,
ignorance, greed, laziness, gullibility or stupidity.
By the way, you can learn about
Fourth Generation concepts right here in my private guests' area.

If you’ve never visited The
Profit Clinic before, here’s what some well-known network marketing professionals
have to say about it (and they’re all independent — none of them are in business
with me or the companies I chose).
- Here's what the Editor-in-Chief
of Upline®
Journal, said…
"I think you're doing some
of the most cutting edge writing in the industry and want to make sure our readers
get a regular dose. There are so many of your articles I'd like to share with them...

your most sacred network marketing cows. He barbecues and serves 'em right back to
you a slice at a time – and you LOVE it!"

“The Profit Clinic is the best
MLM web site in the world.”
Take your time. There’s
no rush.
- Study the ideas. Think them through.
Re-read them. If they make sense, try them. See if they work in practice. If you
